Ghost | 4 years 6 months old | Female

Sometimes, we need to call out for a special foster carer, and now is that time. Meet Ghost, a very loving, deserving girl that with time, treatment and weight loss will be a really playful happy husky again.
We know that Ghost matters, we know she needs help, and we want to help her so she can live the life she deserves!

Ghost is currently in RSPCA and they have reached out and asked if we could help her.
She is 4 1/2 years old and was surrendered to the RSPCA because of her condition, that was left untreated, ignored, and continued to get worse over time. She has just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism by the RSPCA vets.

Ghost needs a foster carer who can be her support as she continues her treatment back to health.

She has now begun treatment of oral thyroxine supplementation and will require a repeat blood test in 4 to 6 weeks to recheck her blood thyroid level. She also has significant lipid deposits on the left eye and excessive subconjunctival fat accumulation resulting in the left eye having limited vision. Both eyes are affected, the left eye more so.

Once her medical condition has been stabilised, we will organise for her to see ophthalmologist to discuss eye surgery.

She weighs 40kg and had her coat shaved by her previous owners. She can struggle with extended movement, has patches of poor coat health and is quite depressed.

One of our team met with her today and report she’s a lovely girl with a sweet personality. She can be a bit protective of food, but this would be because of her condition.

We are looking for a carer that can offer their home to Ghost, allowing her inside and manage her diet, medication, exercise and attend vet appointments as required. All costs will be covered by the rescue.

She is good with other dogs, a calmer dog would suit her if there is one and humans that are willing to work with her.
