Dakota is an absolute delight! At 9 years old, this gorgeous girl has a heart of gold and loves to give cuddles. Even though she’s in her senior years she is still so playful, people often think she is a puppy.
She is so gentle and mixes well with every human and dog she has met. She of course has a quirky husky personality which will make you giggle daily. She will make your heart melt and would be an incredible addition to your home.
She is very food driven and loves treats, but also knows how to sit and wait before eating her dinner – no food aggression here!
Dakota enjoys longer walks but if she gets her daily exercise in small increments throughout the day then she’s content. She is great on-lead but sometimes will quickly lunge (friendly) towards passing dogs if she wants to say hello, so you just need to be vigilante.
She is excellent with other dogs and understands boundaries quickly. Her obedience level is relatively good as she can sit, shake, and wait when she wants to cooperate or there’s food involved. She loves car rides and is great around children – family had at least 5 children!
Since coming into foster care Dakota hasn’t had interactions with children, but we are sure this loving girl will be just fine, we would be happy for her to go to a home with school aged children. Dakota would make a great addition to any loving home – solo or with another friendly dog. Her best qualities include being super friendly, cuddly, gentle, quiet, clean, and always so full of love!
Her ideal home would be where she’s allowed indoors and people that have a lot of love to give this girl. Not suited to apartment or rural fencing. Fully vetworked
The usual husky rules apply, with no cats or pocket pets, lots of love and exercise, and secure dig-proof 5ft + fencing.
