Jaxon came to us from a pound, because his microchip wasn’t registered we aren’t sure of his correct age. Vets have suggested he’s approx 4 -5 yrs old
Jaxon is an intelligent and very placid boy who loves human company and always willing to please. He can be a bit husky stubborn, (no surprises there) but with high value treats and praise he’s very responsive. Will sit, drop, stay with food reward and will sit to cross the road but needs reinforcement.
Jaxon loves to talk when he’s content and will bark when he’s not comfortable in a situation. He just needs to be corrected if barking becomes too much and will settle down once he’s aware that everything is alright. He is not very playful with his foster sister, although he’s very tolerable of her playfulness. He does enjoy playing by himself with a squeaky toy or another favored toy.
While Jaxon may initially pull on the leash if he encounters another dog, he quickly settles down during walks and seems good with other dogs overall. Jaxon would do best in a home without young kids or cats/pocket pets as he may be wary of them.
He would make a great companion for an older adult or empty-nester family who are physically active; Jaxon needs at least one or two good walks per day and good interaction with his humans. Jaxon enjoys being inside of a day and evening with his humans and is happy to go outside and sleep for night. It’s important that he not be confined in small spaces like the laundry room or bathroom as this causes him stress.
Overall, Jaxon is a beautiful-natured boy who just needs a loving family to call his own. Jaxon would suit another suitably matched female canine companion or as an only dog as long as he was allowed indoors and made part of the family.
The usual husky rules apply, with no cats or pocket pets, plus secure 6ft+ dig proof fences, lots of love and daily exercise. Please complete an application if you match Jaxon’s profile.
