MEDICAL SPECIAL NEEDS CARER HOME
Lexa is a 4.8-year-old Siberian Husky who was surrendered to the shelter by her family are moving overseas.
Lexa a is a lovely girl, with cheeky personality ++ who will make a great family companion for people who are keen to help a medical special needs dog.
Lexa needs a home that will be well supported by the rescue for her medical diagnosis of spinal cord disease that may be slowly progressive. She has also displayed some continence issues here and UTIs, which have resolved – these two issues she could be prone to ongoing.
Lexa lived with another dog (male Kelpie x Staffy) whom she got along well with. She also lived with a 5–6-year-old child, no issues, friendly to all.
We believe Lexa can live with a well-matched canine – on shelter assessments she has grown more confident with dogs and on her more recent dog test she was playful with a juvenile Heeler, a bit of rough play but nice interactions overall.
Previously an Indoor/outdoor dog, slept inside. Left 5-8 hours. Friendly with people, ignores strangers. Relaxed in the car, excited on lead, chases cats. Howls when groomed. Walked daily for up to 1 hour. Knows sit, bark, hifive, stay.
