Rusky is a stunning Husky boy with the kindest eyes and a heart full of love. H
He’s one of those dogs that everyone falls for the moment they meet him gentle, affectionate, and just a little bit cheeky in true Husky style.
Rusky walks beautifully on lead and loves his daily adventures. He gets a little excited when he sees other dogs, but it’s all curiosity and a desire to play. He is in foster care with another male husky, they get along well, Rusky is respectful and backs away if Yogi tells him to give space, a true gentleman.
He’s a clever boy who listens and loves to please. Rusky knows sit, stay and lay down, and waits patiently for his food until given the go-ahead. Like most Huskies, he sometimes gets caught up in excitement and may pretend not to hear you, but most of the time he’s eager to follow your lead.
Rusky is both playful and calm, happy to nap by your side for most of the day, but ready for a bit of fun when it’s playtime. He travels beautifully in the car and sleeps indoors on his bed beside yours.
He’s a talker (of course!) and loves to share his thoughts with his humans. During storms, he can be a little unsure, but settles quickly when someone sits with him for comfort.
Rusky has met teenage kids and was perfectly at ease with them. He hasn’t been around younger children, so gentle introductions would be best if his new family includes little ones.
He’s shown good manners with other dogs of all shapes and sizes, though he doesn’t appreciate being humped (fair enough!). He’s still learning that cats aren’t for chasing, so a cat-free home would suit him best.
Rusky’s toilet training is improving every day, and with continued guidance he’ll have it mastered soon. He hasn’t been to dog parks, and we’d recommend avoiding them he’s happier with calm, controlled interactions rather than big off-lead environments.
Rusky has clearly been through some tough times, and while those experiences have left their mark, they’ve also revealed what a resilient, loving boy he is. He just wants someone to love him wholeheartedly and show him that he’s finally safe.
Rusky’s ideal home: A kind, patient family who can offer him the time, reassurance, and love he deserves. He’d be happiest as the only dog, or with a calm, older canine companion (preferably a female). Rusky truly is one of those special dogs who will steal your heart and never let go. Whoever adopts him will gain a loyal, gentle friend for life.
