Khwai is a beautiful Siberian Husky who came into his family after being adopted from the RSPCA in September 2022. He has grown into a wonderful family dog who loves his people and enjoys being part of everyday family life.
Khwai is fantastic with children and has lived happily alongside a young child since he was a newborn. He is gentle, affectionate and comfortable around children.
He is also social with other dogs and loves having canine friends around. He is playful, energetic and has been socialised at home, dog parks and dog beaches. A home with another friendly, playful dog would be a great fit for Khwai.
He is the dominant male of the two dogs he currently lives with, so while he would love a canine companion, he would be best matched with a dog that is confident and comfortable with his energetic and playful personality, rather than another strongly dominant dog.
Khwai loves being active and his favourite things include running on the beach, swimming, playing tug of war and going on adventures. He is a great traveller and enjoys car trips. He has had plenty of training, including obedience classes and around a year of agility training.
He is very food motivated and knows a good range of commands and tricks. He walks beautifully on lead and has even been happily walked alongside a pram. His recall is excellent when there are treats and no tempting distractions, but he should not be off lead in areas where wildlife or livestock may be present.
A secure, high fenced yard is essential, as Khwai can jump fences when motivated. He also enjoys digging, particularly when trying to cool down, and has typical Husky tendencies such as jumping and climbing. Khwai is not suitable to live with cats due to his strong chasing instinct.
He is generally a relatively quiet Husky. He may bark when people arrive, usually from excitement, and will occasionally howl when he hears sirens, but he is not particularly vocal.
Khwai is looking for an active family who understands Huskies and can provide him with secure fencing, companionship, exercise and plenty of opportunities to be part of the family. In return, they will have a loving, playful and wonderfully social Husky who has so much to give.
