URGENT FOSTER HOMES NEEDED![]()
Located Melbourne
We have 7 Huskies from the same home who urgently need foster placement.
We have secured foster homes for 2 of them with two of our amazing carers, but we desperately need foster homes for the remaining 5.
These dogs have not had the easiest start. They are all extremely thin and have very little muscle mass, so physically they have a long way to go. Some are very shut down and fearful, while others are vocal and seeking attention.
What they all need now is time, patience and a safe environment where they can begin to decompress and learn what life can be like outside of the environment they have known.
They don’t need someone to fix everything overnight. They need people who are prepared to give them time, allow them to come out of their shells at their own pace and help them build confidence and trust.
All dogs have been vet checked and will be desexed prior to release into foster care.
We have detailed information on each dog and are happy to talk through their individual needs with suitable foster applicants. We will do our best to match each dog with the right home and provide ongoing support throughout their foster journey.
Xander
Xander-6-8 months? Shy and fearful. Doesn’t understand the lead so can bite and snap at it.
He is being cared for using our fear protocol and will need a very patient and understanding foster home.
His rehabilitation will be about giving him time, space and consistency while learns that he is safe. He will need someone who is happy to celebrate the small steps as his confidence slowly grows.
Rip
Rip is a tall Agouti male who is very thin and lacking muscle. He will approach for treats, which is a positive starting point, but he is very shut down outside of his pen.
He has reportedly growled at other dogs and appears to be fearful rather than confident. He will need a patient foster home that understands he may need time to decompress and feel secure before we see his true personality.
Oz
Oz appears to be a young adult, possibly around 10 to 12 months old.
He is friendly, takes food and seeks attention, although he is still very thin and physically underdeveloped. With stability, routine and patience, we hope to see him continue to gain confidence and learn how to simply be a young Husky.
Ripple
Ripple is a 7 year old female and currently appears to be one of the easiest of the group.
She is friendly, enjoys attention and treats. She is still very thin and will need a home where she can settle, recover physically and start to enjoy a more normal life.
Giles
Giles is friendly, takes food and is a very vocal boy.
He may be related to Buffy although we are still working through their history. His ears are very damaged at the tips, making it difficult to accurately estimate his age without being able to assess his teeth.
Like the others, he needs time to recover physically and a stable home where he can begin to settle and build trust.
These dogs don’t need perfection. They need patience.
Some will need more rehabilitation than others. Some may take weeks or months to truly come out of their shells. We want to give them the opportunity to learn that people can be kind, homes can be safe and life doesn’t always have to be about simply surviving.
Our foster carers are supported every step of the way. We provide food, bedding, veterinary care and ongoing support.
If you have the patience, compassion and a safe home to give one of these Huskies a chance, please contact us.
We cannot help them without foster homes.
Please share. Their future depends on us finding the right people for them. ![]()
